Rumortoid: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare coming to the Wii

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may hit the Wii.

According to a Kotaku report, publisher Activision will announce, at some point today, that Infinity Ward’s other (and older) modern-day shooter is coming the waggle-tastic platform. It will ship the same day as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the big boy consoles (November 10th) and is being handled by Treyarch, developer of several Call of Duty Wii titles.

Despite the “rumor” tag, we’re pretty sure this thing will happen. Activision recently announced a Nintendo DS title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Mobilized. If the publisher were willing to jam the series onto portable devices, then why wouldn’t they put the wildly popular (but older) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on the console with the biggest install base this generation?

We’ll know soon enough, we suppose.
