Persona 4 is Amazon’s Deal of the Day at $29.99

Destructoid was one of the first outlets to formally review Persona 4 in the U.S. We gave the PS2 role-playing game a perfect score and our Editor’s Choice award. Most of our readers were happy to get the early news on the anticipated follow-up to Atlus’ prior hit, Persona 3, but some were quick to call me out, questioning my review.

Well, in honor of Amazon’s Deal of the Day, which is Persona 4 for the low price of only $29.98, I thought I’d take this opportunity to respond to my detractors.

MrSadistic says: “well that was quick”

No. No it wasn’t. I spent every waking second playing this game to finish it in time for the review.

Funky Goodness says: “Dale, did you finish this?” “…this seems a little too quick.”

Get this: By the time most of you had just come across your first boss, I had almost finished Persona 4 twice. Once with debug code that Atlus sent me early, and the second time with a retail copy. I got the good ending that last time.

Mozgus says: “Oh gee, perfect score. What a fu*king surprise.”

It was a surprise to me, too! But when I finished it and saw what a fantastic game it was, I was not surprised to see just about a dozen more outlets follow with giving it a perfect score. On Metacritic, the game still stands with a “universal acclaim” rating. I call ’em like I see ’em.

If you’ve missed this great game, don’t pass up this deal to get it for cheap.
