Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 2 is already here with additions to Karlach’s narrative

That was fast.

When Larian spoke of their plans for the second patch to Baldur’s Gate 3, which includes changes to character epilogues and performance fixes, I thought they meant, “This is what we’re working on.” Y’know, this is what you could expect for the future. Well, the future is now because Larian just dropped Patch 2. It includes an extrapolation of Karlach’s character arc.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 2 is available right now. My Steam clocks it at 580.6MB. Its marquee feature is Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends, which allows you to dismiss co-op partners from your party. It also touts the expected performance upgrades, as well as reduced save file sizes.

In particular with Karlach, BG3 Patch 2 adds another scene to her ending. It also delivers some new choices regarding how you guide her through her arc and additional dialogue bits to flesh out her perspective on story happenings.

Beyond that, there are also a number of UI tweaks that will help you navigate your inventory a lot better. You’ll also find a huge laundry list of fixed bugs. Considering how expansive Baldur’s Gate 3 is and how complicated RPGs like it typically are packed with a variety of weird glitches, Larian has been pretty quick to plug a lot of its holes.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 2 is available now. You can find the full patch notes (including spoilers) right here.
