There’s little question that TimeSplitters developer Free Radical Design was working on the unannounced Star Wars: Battlefront III. After the success of the first two titles (developed by Pandemic), it was a no-brainer, and rumors have suggested that the Nottingham, England-based developer was on board for number three.
Now, with artist Richard Smith — an ex-employee of Free Radical — posting renders of models from the game on his Web site, it’s all been confirmed. While the images were quickly yanked from Smith’s site, SWBF3.de snatched up the images, which depict Jawas, Han Solo, and other Star Wars-related things.
With the game rumored to be over two-years in development, completely scrapping it seems like a stretch, so it’s likely the game will pop up in some state over the next year or so. Recent rumors point to Rebellion having picked up duties for the title’s final touches, having previous Star Wars experience with the PlayStation Portable port of Battlefront II.
