GameStop is hosting a couple of Call of Duty: World at War launch events tonight in San Francisco and Washington DC from 9PM to Midnight. GameStop is going all out to make gamers feel like they’re in an actual war zone by making the store look like a CoD battlefield. There will even be wounded last gen console scattered about filled with bullet holes!*
People that go to these events will have the chance to play CoD against actual military personal stationed at 29 Palms and Ft. Drum in six versus six tourneys. The event will also see contests going on throughout the night for copies of World at War and Xbox 360 game consoles, see models dressed up as 1940s pin-up girls/WWII era soldiers and get the chance to meet developers from Treyarch. People can also purchase the game at any point during the event with Activision donating $10 to the USO for every copy sold (up to $20,000) at the Washington DC store.
Check out the GameStop page to find out where both events will be held. Anyone planning on attending? I want pictures of pin-up models!
*That last part is a lie.
