It seems that Capcom has absolute confidence in the next game of their popular Resident Evil franchise.

In their predictions, Capcom says that they’ll move 3.2 million copies of Resident Evil 5 when it’s released early next year. For reference, that’s above BioShock (2.2m) numbers and below Metal Gear Solid 4 (about 4 million). I think it’s do-able. We dug the game when we played it. They can count me for one.

The rest of their big hitters fall below RE5‘s predictions. They’re looking to move 1.7 million copies of Street Figther IV, and they’d like to do 1.5 million on Bionic Commando. I don’t know about the latter. And while they expect big things from mass slaughterings in an African village, their hopes aren’t so high for ones in a shopping mall. Eurogamer says that Capcom predicts sales of 500,000 for the Wii version of Dead Rising.
