Nintendo releasing colored straps in Japan, world wishes they could get in on it

Siliconera is reporting that Nintendo is prepped to release a plethora of colored straps for the Wii remote this September.

Unfortunately, the giant publisher has decided that it will only push these straps out in Japan for the time being. The package pictured above is available for the meager price of 1,000 yen, but you can buy singles for 300 yen. I’m a little disappointed that a black option isn’t available, but I heard the Wii demographic isn’t exactly filled with guys like me.

Rejoice, Japanese consumers! Soon you shall be able to mystify your friends with your curious choice of Wii remote strap. Perhaps when you put your remote through their TV they’ll be more prone to smile because of the pretty color trail seen as it flies through the air. Now if only Nintendo would put out a different colored console to coincide with your choice of strap. Certainly they would never do such a thing.
