Maybe you have fond 8-bit memories like I do, of a time when a “good cinematic” was an image of face with a flashing mouth and a jump button was a luxury. Or maybe you don’t, and I have shoes older than you. 

Either way, I think it’s been established that GRIN’s Bionic Commando Rearmed is not only a good game, but a damned fine remake and a beautiful homage to an original. Don’t believe us? Check the video above, put together by the fine folks over at GameTrailers. 

It just goes to show that old-school gameplay mechanics plus fancy next-gen visuals (Rearmed uses the same engine as the upcoming next-gen Bionic Commando) can equal sweet, retro bliss. Dear videogame industry: if you’re going to remake games, give them to someone passionate about the original; the difference shows.
