Sony Interactive Entertainment, in association with developer Sucker Punch, has announced that a brand new co-op multiplayer mode is coming to acclaimed samurai adventure Ghost of Tsushima as a free update this fall.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will stand aside from the main single-player campaign and will feature a selection of heroes, villains and, seemingly, demons from Japanese folklore and mythology. With an emphasis on action, synchronicity, and combat, Legends will allow two-to-four players to team up online for savage, class-based swordplay and adventure.

Two players can team-up to take on a short arc of original co-op missions, while a full squad of four players can battle their way through punishing survival modes, packed full of new attacks, skills, and strange demonic forces. Later after Legends’ release, players can expect a “Raid”-style mode to be added to the mix, allowing players to team up and enter a new realm to face off against as-yet-unrevealed enemies.

The Ghost of Tsushima: Legends update will arrive sometime this fall. Ghost of Tsushima is available now on PS4. You can check out more info over on the PlayStation Blog.
