E3 08: Fallout 3 video walkthrough and trailer

Recommended Videos

Straight from Microsoft’s E3 2008 press conference, here’s a quick demonstration of Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic action RPG, Fallout 3.

Among the cooler things shown in the video are V.A.T.S. (Fallout 3‘s turn-based fighting system), enemy bodies being blown to smitherines in slow-motion, and my personal favorite, the mini nuclear bomb catapult.

There’s no doubt in my mind that more than a few hardcore Fallout 1 & 2 fans aren’t going to fall in love with what Bethesda has done to their precious series, but I for one am loving the atmosphere, the fact that you can choose between real time and turn-based combat, and the impressive sound design.

Hit the jump for even more Fallout 3 goodness.

If you’re not digging the live action in this next video (why wouldn’t you?), make sure not to miss the actual gameplay near the end of the trailer. There’s more violence, more gore (did you see that guy’s eyeballs go flying!?!), and a greater variety of enemy types shown.
