The beta starts today

As more and more news comes out about the Phantasy Star Online 2 western beta, it all seems like the localization team is doing right by it.

Not only did we learn recently that the game will support both English and Japanese audio, but thanks to another vigilant Twitter account response, we now know that the beta will allow mouse and keyboard support on Xbox One. Based on how great the fan interactions have been so far, Sega seems all-in on this release. Hopefully the beta will go swimmingly and it’ll get a decent-sized playerbase to work with.

As a reminder, the beta will start today at 5PM PT, and will run through Saturday, February 8 at 11:59 PT. You can preload the game now, so make sure to do it given the short timeline! Oh, and progress will carry over, so don’t be afraid of wipes. Sega has also confirmed to Destructoid that it’ll sport four races and nine classes (with 18 weapon types), and that a “special in-game concert” will run at 8PM PT on Saturday night at the Shopping Plaza in the main hub.
