The well-deserved legacy of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath lives on with ports, and next year, we’re getting another one: a Switch version. During this morning’s Nintendo Indie World showcase, Oddworld Inhabitants, Inc. announced a January 23, 2020 launch date for this latest HD re-release.

The Switch port will cost $30, and there are Switch-specific features. Notably, Stranger’s Wrath will offer “super tight gyro-aiming for fine adjustments, and blazing-fast load times,” according to creator Lorne Lanning. The team also “rounded up some great new graphical and performance upgrades.”

If you were ever curious about Oddworld, consider Stranger’s Wrath. It’s an interesting entry point. And, speaking of which, it’s not the only Switch-bound title. Expect more news on that front in 2020.
