Here’s how to get free hidden ability Galar starters with Pokemon Home

Just link Pokemon Sword and Shield and deposit something

There’s actually two Pokemon related bits of news today: a date for the first Sword and Shield expansion and a new Pokemon Home promotion.

While the former is more obvious and upfront (it’s June 17), the latter was actually announced quietly on the Japanese Pokemon Twitter account, with a link to a page for more info. Basically, as of today, if you deposit any creature in Home (which is available now for Switch and mobile devices), you can unlock the three Galar region starters for free.

That’s Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble, all of which will have special hidden abilities. Just deposit something, head to the gifts section and receive all three: done! It’s a nice little promo that will provide folks with plenty of time to level them up before the June 17 launch date of Isle of Armor.
