Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled hits the gas in new launch trailer

Green flag drops a little early

The release of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled may still be a couple of weeks away, but that hasn’t stopped publisher Activision from putting the pedal to the metal and releasing a “launch” trailer for the updated PS1 classic.

The new video whizzes through a selection of tracks, hazards, vehicles and characters, also giving us a glimpse at some of the fun and daft customisation options available in the full game. We see Crash, Coco and Dr. Cortex, with even a cameo from the wild-eyed Ripper Roo. The trailer also shows off Nitro-Fueled’s split-screen multiplayer, and reminds us of its online and adventure modes

Whether you’re an OG CTR fan from 1999, or you’re coming to the franchise for the first time, Nitro-Fueled is shaping up to be a great-looking kart racer. Given the amazing performance of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, as well as the heavy ’90s nostalgia factor, Nitro-Fueled seems almost guaranteed to finish in the winner’s circle on release.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled launches June 21 on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
