Animation studio Sublimation Inc has announced that they are producing an anime series based on Capcom’s fantasy RPG Dragon’s Dogma. The show will be produced for the Netflix platform, in keeping with other video game shows such as Castlevania and the upcoming Devil May Cry.

Details are a little thin, but according to the studio “The story follows a man’s journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart. On his way, the man is brought back to life as an ‘Arisen'” with the new project summarised as “An action adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans.”

Dragon’s Dogma, which released back in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360, where it received praise from critics and fans alike. It was followed up with a Japan-only MMO Dragon’s Dogma Online in 2015. Perhaps the success of this new anime project could turn Capcom’s head toward developing a sequel, for which fans have been clamoring for some time.
