Wii shortages have turned up everything from insanely overpriced auctions on Ebay to lines waiting for retailers’ Wii shipments to arrive, but this is some seriously unacceptable news. The folks at the Lilac Plaza Retirement Home had been saving money from the sale of recipe books to purchase a Wii for the seniors’ use. They succeeded and purchased one, only to have it stolen this past weekend.
GoNintendo posted the original story and plans to buy a Wii and send it to the home to replace the stolen console.
I know people generally suck, but this is more infuriating than most stories. Who steals from old people at Christmastime? I hope the person responsible dies in a fire. Anyway, if you want to help out, go check out the post and put in your two cents. We can’t let this kind of thing happen to fellow gamers, no matter what age.
