The trio of Final Fantasy XIII games are coming to Xbox One via backward compatibility

Lighting returns…again

Microsoft has been steadily increasing their cachet of backward compatible games: during their X018 celebrating today they shared that there’s “more than 500 Xbox 360 games (25 of which are Xbox One X enhanced) and 32 original Xbox classics” on the service. Soon we’ll have four more.

As shared on-stream, Microsoft is welcoming Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2 and Lightning Returns (XIII-3, or, the best one) into the fold, as well as the odd-game-out, Civilization Revolution. Microsoft says all of them will be “Xbox One X Enhanced,” so expect minor visual upgrades.

Seriously don’t sleep on Lightning Returns. Cozy up with this retro recap video to get caught up on XIII‘s twisting, turning, campy storyline and give Returns a shot. Do it for Chocolina.
