Final Fantasy IX finally removes years-old music bug, but only on PS4

Loop de Loop

Square Enix, out of nowhere, has rolled out an update for their PS4 re-release of Final Fantasy IX, fixing an audio big that has been bothering fans for almost two years.

The bug in question pertains to the game’s music, which causes each track to loop back to the start whenever leaving a battle. Given the frequency of fights in FF titles, this essentially meant that players rarely got past the first minute of the track before having a rumble, winning, and then the track starting all over again.

But as of update 1.02. This is no longer the case. Unfortunately, only the PS4 edition has received the fix, with the same problem continuing to exist on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Which is weirdly ironic, given that the latter two platforms had the same bug fixed on Final Fantasy VII, while the PS4 version still suffers from it!
