Publisher Wired Productions has dropped a cool new feature onto light-speed racing title GRIP. The free update, which is live today on PS4, PC and Xbox One, adds a range of slick anti-gravity vehicles, or “AirBlades” to the game’s garage.

Immediately leaping on the obvious similarities between GRIP and two popular PS1 racing franchises, Wired Productions Managing Director Leo Zullo noted “I’m pretty sure if WipeOut and Rollcage hooked up, this is the baby they’d pop out. It’s beyond exciting to finally be able to reveal AirBlades, as we see it as a true game changer.”

Players are now able to take to the starting line in either Rollers or AirBlades, racing for the finish line while unleashing mayhem along the way. The update also includes several new tracks, though the AirBlades are retroactively compatible with every course in GRIP to date.

GRIP: Combat Racing is available now on PS4, PC and Xbox One. A Nintendo Switch port is currently in development and is expected to launch toward the end of May.
