New Sea of Thieves expansion slips back a week

Forsaken Shores rescheduled for September 27

Rare recently suggested that it might need more time to finish Forsaken Shores, and that is indeed the case. This month’s fiery Sea of Thieves expansion has moved from September 19 to September 27.

“This was not a decision that was taken lightly, and we know this may disappoint fans who were looking to play the update this week,” noted Rare. “That said, our priority is to deliver a stable, polished and bug-free experience and we feel that the extra week of development will enable us to do this.”

It sounds like Forsaken Shores will be tough enough without the added stress of bugs and crashes, so this was clearly the right move. Players can only tolerate so many rocky update rollouts.
