Sega is really making a Sonic the Hedgehog toaster

Have mercy on us all

Sega went out on a limb and whipped up an amusing what-if scenario: what if fans could buy a toaster that “burns Sonic’s face onto your piece of toast”? Would they? The answer is a resounding “yes.”

The company wanted a thousand pre-orders before going through with its limited edition Sonic Toaster; it just passed that threshold today. The toasters cost $35 and they’ll ship on October 1, 2018.

This particular photo makes the toaster seem impractical, but it does in fact toast:
