Sony releases a new Lemmings game for mobile

It’s not Paintball, though

Out of the blue, Sony has announced and simultaneously released a new Lemmings game for mobile devices. Originally developed by DMA Design (aka Rockstar Games) before shifting to Psygnosis (which worked on WipEout), Sony had acquired the Lemmings IP when the latter went defunct six years ago. I guess now was the right time to bring it back and you can try it out for free on your phone.

Played exclusively in portrait mode, the game looks to capture the classic style of Lemmings games. I don’t have a huge history with the series, but I did play a couple of the ’90s releases on my older PCs. I also remember Lemmings Paintball, which was pretty decent.

You can find the game on the Apple App Store and Google Play store. It does contain microtransactions, but I don’t know the extent of them.
