Slime Rancher is getting a free VR mode

Coming to Steam this fall

Folks have been clamoring for Slime Rancher in virtual reality, and I definitely see the appeal.

The aesthetic is simple enough that it wouldn’t lose much in the transfer, the gameplay is a natural fit in terms of pacing, and the slimes would be oh so cute up close. Case in point: this adorable boop.

Yep, it’s happening. Monomi Park and 3lb Games are working on Slime Rancher: VR Playground, a free DLC release planned for Steam later this fall. It’s not a full-on adaptation of the base game, but it will have “playgrounds” based on existing areas like Dry Reef, Moss Blanket, and the Ancient Ruins.

Even if the content is limited, knowing that it’s a free addition, this should be sweet.
