DICE promises a ‘revamped’ progression system for Star Wars Battlefront II

New content season and mode also in the works

Last month saw a batch of new content for Star Wars Battlefront II including two new heroes, another map, and more single-player missions. DICE is prepping a second season along those lines that’s “coming soon” (and hopefully adds Obi-Wan so fans can stop requesting him already).

There’s also a limited-time mode, Jetpack Cargo, planned for February. It’s a capture-the-flag variant with two teams of eight players zipping around the map trying to steal each other’s cargo.

But the important bit, the issue that desperately needs to be addressed because it bogs the whole game down, is further out. DICE says it’s “preparing significant changes to progression that will address many of the things we’ve seen players asking for.” Only problem? “We’ll be sharing more details about these changes in March.” That really feels like it’s too little too late.

My interest in Battlefront II has dropped off to the point where I don’t even bother logging in for the daily rewards anymore. From the sound of it, that’s going to remain the case for the near-future.
