The Just Cause 3 multiplayer mod hit Steam and I need to get in on this

You can even make your own game modes

I had a tough time figuring out which Just Cause 3: Multiplayer Mod screenshot to feature on top of this article. It’s a no-win situation trying to whittle them down to best capture the insanity of hundreds of Rico Rodriguezes running amok. So, I’m taking the easy way out: let’s just go with all the candidates!

Good shit.

Anyway, yeah, the free, supported-right-through-Steam multiplayer mod for Just Cause 3 is officially out. There’s a UI refresh, Steam integration for invites, and a number of fixes (find the full notes here).

Looking ahead, nanos GbR is planning to “rebuild the foundation of our client, just as we did with the 0.9.9 release for the server. This way we can ensure that we can deliver future updates faster, but still keep our code base ready for upcoming features. It also allows us to improve stability even further, as we can reduce crashes and bugs by cleaning up several parts of our client code.”

As much as Just Cause 3 left me feeling lukewarm (only for things to go downhill from there), this could and should be a ridiculous way to spend an afternoon — so long as it’s stable, of course.
