Tree jumping in Zelda: Breath of the Wild is my new jam

I love that people are still experimenting

Remember when there was a time where so few people accessed the internet, that a lot of (commonly accepted) tactics would be considered rumors or hearsay? I grew up fiddling with MS-DOS and 28.8k internet access, but it was nothing like the modern age of social sharing. Now you can find one weird thing in a game and go viral, which is just what happened to Twitter user kfurumiya with a Zelda: Breath of the Wild clip.

All they did is cut down a tree, stop it with stasis magic, whack it, then ride the boost to great heights to glide into a tower, but it’s such an effective strategy I had to share it with more people. While I’m sure folks have been doing this for ages, it’s the first time I’ve seen such a clear depiction of tree jumping.

I’m amazed that this game is still getting this level of play weeks down the line. Normally the zeitgeist is over open world games in a few weeks’ time, but this one has lived on.
