If basic information like the name of a protagonist counts as spoilers, you probably want to avoid this article. If not, congratulations, you’ve passed the sanity test.

Due to a description dumped by the ESRB, we now have a little more information on Resident Evil 7, most notably the main character’s name — Ethan. It was mentioned in the gamescom trailer but now we know for sure, and we’ll be embarking with him on his quest to “search for his missing wife” in a giant dilapidated mansion.

Chainsaws, explosives, shotguns, flamethrowers, and pistols have been confirmed, just in case you were curious if Capcom was remaking Outlast and not featuring combat in the game. Several scenes are also described, including one where “a man’s leg is taken off at the knee with a shovel, and a character is impaled through the face with a shovel.”

Is it…is it the same shovel in both cases? Stay tuned to January 2017 to find out!
