Pokemon, Assassin’s Creed, Street Fighter up for grabs for Free Comic Book Day

And other non-video game comics

Tomorrow, May 7 is the 15th annual Free Comic Book Day, and there are a couple of freebies on offer this year that may appeal to gamers who don’t know a whole lot about comics (like me). Among the hefty list of 50 books are Pokémon: Pocket Comics, Assassin’s Creed, and Street Fighter V.

Not every comic shop or bookstore is participating, so make sure you check first to see if you can snag some free comics. I was surprised to find a location in my podunk little town in Mississippi, so your chances are decent even if you live on the edge of civilization.

NPR’s Glen Weldon has a great, exhaustive breakdown of all 50 comics available, so that might be worth a read for the uninitiated. (Though he basically recommends every single one.) Personally, the video game stuff isn’t really doing it for me this year; I’m hoping to be able to pick up Serenity, Bob’s Burgers, and The Tick.
