This nine-minute, no-death Furi boss fight is stressful

It’s going to be real easy to die

A couple of days ago, we were able to see snippets of Furi, an upcoming PlayStation 4 and PC shooter/action game centered around boss fights, and I thought it looked promising. Now, here’s a full playthrough of that same encounter by the title’s combat designer. Spoiler: he’s good.

Most of the battle is shown from a pulled-back view, allowing the player to fully see all of the crazy projectile patterns and act accordingly, but there are also closer-up sword-fighting sequences too.

If there’s one thing I don’t care for, it’s the inclusion of quick-time events, but other than that I really do like how this is taking shape. I’ll be curious to see if the other duels are as varied.
