After a no-show at GDC, Niantic Labs has announced that testing for the app is going forward for select participants…in Japan. Of course.

All you have to do is have an Android or iOS device, go to the official site, register, and…live in Japan. Later this month the event will actually kick off, and it will have an NDA attached to it, though we can probably expect some leaks and information to come out of it at that time anyway.

Niantic has noted that it will be expanded to other regions later in the year, though the app itself still doesn’t even have a release window.
