Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson assured attendees at a recent conference that the publisher was not just a money-hungry “corporate beast.”

Talking at the B.C. Tech Summit (via Vancouver 24 Hrs), Wilson acknowledged that the publisher has had to change and adapt as the company has grown and matured.

“If you understand the video game business, EA — the branding is this corporate beast that just wants to take money from them while people play our games. That’s not actually what we’re trying to do.”

The source article doesn’t go on to share what EA is trying to do, so form your own opinions.

Talking about EA Access, the company’s Xbox One-exclusive subscription service, Wilson added: “For the longest time in civilization, we would spend money as human beings, then we would spend time where we spent our money. That’s reversed now.”

“You come in, and play a bunch of games, and ultimately you invest after that.”
