Mortal Shell 2 is out worldwide in early access with full launch coming soon, and PC players can alter the settings to get better performance on their end. While the general gameplay in the review build has been smooth, there have been hiccups.

Thankfully, I made some key tweaks to improve the gameplay by removing all forms of lags and stutters.

Best Mortal Shell 2 graphics settings

Before I dive deep into the settings, here’s my current setup.

  • AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
  • AMD Radeon 9060XT 16 GB
  • 32 GB of DDR4 RAM

My first task was to reduce some graphics parameters to make it easier for this system. For this guide, however, I have focused on systems that are closer to the minimum requirements. If your device is stronger, you can go for one parameter higher (If I have recommended Medium for any attribute, go for High and test it out).

  • Window Mode: Windowed Fullscreen (Only if you have multiple screens)
  • Render Resolution: Performance/Ultra Performance
  • Resolution Upscaler: FSR
  • Vsync: Off (Turn this on if you’re getting stutters. Turning this on will smoothen the frames by slightly reducing the FPS)
  • Framerate Limit: 60 FPS (seems like the sweet spot for most devices)
  • Frame Generation: Off
  • Scalability: Custom
  • Global Illumination: Low
  • Shadows: Low
  • Anti-Aliasing: Medium
  • View Distance: Medium
  • Textures: Low (Set to Medium if there are no lags with Low)
  • Visual Effects: Low
  • Reflections: Low
  • Post Processing: Medium
  • Environment: Low
  • Seamless Dungeons Loading: Off
  • Brightness: Personal preference
  • Gamma: 1.0
  • Sharpness: 0.1
  • Bloom: Off
  • Chromatic Aberration: Off
  • Film Grain: Off
  • Lens Flares: Off
  • Motion Blur: Off
  • Vignette: Off

Putting a cap on the FPS solved plenty of issues on my play through, so that should be your first area of concern. I am hopeful of few post-launch patches that should arrive quickly to solve the issues that might arise for some players.
