Sonic in Smash Bros. Brawl, Ultimate Warrior still absent, pissed

Recommended Videos

Assuming IGN ever gets the post up, they’re about to break news report that Sonic has been confirmed as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. According to their magically disappearing post title, not only is the hedgehog a new combatant, but co-op online play has been confirmed as well.

All this news apparently came from Nintendo’s extremely hush-hush meeting earlier today in which they apparently revealed some huge bombshells and hopefully had delicious snacks. We’ll have more info for you as soon as it becomes available.

For now, attack the comments with any opinions or pictures of squirrels — the hedgehog’s natural enemy — you may have.

[Thanks for this tip — and years of liberal whining — go out to Noam Chomsky]

[UPDATE: Ok, the post is finally up at the above URL and the following has been added:

– Sonic IS in, and will be able to turn into Super Sonic (hopefully via the use of psuedo-3D bonus levels).

Brawl won’t hit Japan until Jan. 24, 2008. No word on what this means for the US or European release dates.

– The latest Brawl trailer shows Sonic in all his azure glory. As soon as we find it, Destructoid will put it up somewhere nearby.]
