No Man’s Sky developers dealt with a killer legal battle for the game’s name

It’s not clear whether or not it’s related to the delay, but developer Hello Games recently broke the silence on an ongoing legal battle regarding the name No Man’s Sky. As it turns out Sky TV (the same company that had Microsoft change Skydrive to Onedrive) and the developer were embroiled in a dispute over the game’s title, but after “three years of secret stupid legal nonsense,” it’s settled, and no change will occur.

A similar thing happened with Mojang’s Scrolls and Double Fine’s Iron Brigade (originally known as Trenched). It’s important to note though that companies often are required to defend their trademarks like this, or lose the rights to their own name.
