Insomniac’s horror adventure Edge of Nowhere drops soon

At the mountains of madness

Ratchet & Clank studio Insomniac Games has several other interesting projects coming up, a few of which are built for virtual reality. Edge of Nowhere, a chilly third-person action-adventure, is one such game. It’s headed to the Oculus Store as an exclusive on Monday, June 6.

The setup: “Victor Howard is searching for his fiancé, Ava Thorne, who is part of a lost expedition in Antarctica. His rescue mission takes a sudden turn as he ventures deeper into a dark monstrous world where reality warps and twists around him. Desperate to find the one he loves, Victor must encounter disturbing creatures and climb sheer cliff walls as he descends further into madness.”

Don’t tread too far into this trailer unless you’re cool with getting a good look at the creatures.

If I had a Rift, I’d be down. Edge of Nowhere is one of the better virtual-reality press demos I’ve tried, and what I played was still early on and relatively tame compared to the hell that’s breaking loose in this clip. Even just jumping over chasms or ducking under a behemoth was intense.
