Here it is, our first look at Assassin Creed creator Patrice Désilets’ 1666: Amsterdam.

Originally in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at THQ Montéal, 1666 was cancelled shortly after Ubisoft acquired the studio and subsequently fired Désilets in 2010.

According to Necrosoft Games founder Brandon Sheffield, who captured the footage during a talk at the Reboot Develop conference in Croatia, the game is about being “worse than the devil” — something that apparently involves using occult powers to possess small creatures and kill innocent bystanders.

Earlier this week, Désilets announced he had acquired the rights to the property as part of an agreement with Ubisoft. However, it’s unclear if Désilets ever plans to resume development on the project, as his new independent studio, Panache Digital Games, is currently devoted to working on Ancestors: the Humankind Odyssey, a game about early human evolution.
