We’re two weeks out from the Overwatch open beta

The closed beta ends soon

This whole not-being-able-to-try-Overwatch thing has been a bummer, but our day will come.

Blizzard is officially winding down the closed beta on Monday, April 25, so if you’re still compulsively checking your email for access, you can stop now — no more invites are going out.

Thankfully, the open beta isn’t far off. It’s launching for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 4 at 4:00pm Pacific, and there’s also going to be an early-access period. If you pre-purchase or pre-order the game by April 29, you can begin the open beta on May 2 at 4:00pm Pacific.

What’s included? All of the characters, maps, and “launch-day features,” thankfully. “We want players to get a feel for the complete Overwatch experience, so no content will be restricted or locked!”

That said, any progress we make in the beta will not carry over. Shame. I’m pumped to finally play this, but knowing my luck, I will fall into a coma the day of.
