Maybe you remember the Analogue NT from two years back. This bougie boutique is an “NES made of aircraft-grade aluminum.”
But when you have a specialty product with limited appeal and a high price — the aluminum version is $500 — the correct money-making answer is, always, to lean in. I recently learned about a glass blowing outfit that literally only makes one thing, small, multi-colored cups for tea lights (candles). They are all the same size and shape; they only vary in color. They cost $50 each. This multi-million dollar company is over 100 people and struggling to keep up with demand. Meanwhile I’m trying to suss out who has $5,000-NES-money to add to my “should rob” short list so I can try and pay the IRS all the money I owe them.
The 24k gold plated console will be limited to 10 units and cost $5,000 each. It comes with the original Legend of Zelda, too, if you don’t like playing it in 3D (without spending $5,000).
