The Forest is my next Steam Early Access purchase

Survival of the bravest

This trailer for the open-world survival horror title The Forest is my favorite yet. It begins calmly, allowing you to get swept up by the scenic wilderness and marvel at that fish that totally just got stabbed by a spear before the tension begins to rise as the creepy-crawlers come out.

We’re finally given a more in-depth look at the game’s base-building mechanics, a crucial part of your survival after a fateful plane crash. When the Bad Things come to your house, you’d best make sure there are plenty of traps ready to greet them. Better double up, just to be safe.

Now, I’m not sure what those otherworldly multi-armed mutants are but I want nothing to do with them. I do, however, want everything to do with The Forest. It’s coming to PC via Steam Early Access on May 22, 2014 and there’s even going to be Oculus Rift support. Uh, no thanks!
