Wii Party Station? Are they serious?

Recommended Videos

It is no secret that Nintendo’s Wii is great for parties, and if you haven’t had the pleasure of playing a drunken Wii Bowling session, then you’re really missing out.

Now, Nyko is trying to cash in on the Wii player again, not too long after their (jank or great, depending on who you ask) Charge Station hit shelves. This time they share what is called the Wii Party Station, and this comes with four LCD scoreboards and a bowling alley-style hand blower for those sweaty palms. It also packs in wiimote holders and a little storage slot, so as strange as the combination sounds, it still can prove to be somewhat useful.

Where things get really silly is with the inclusion of four cup holders with freezable “cold sleeves,” all colored Wii white, and maybe this is for your beer and cocktails. Or Kool-aid? What takes it over the top is the chip-and-dip bowls, making your cheesy four-person house party complete.

While I have no problem with Nintendo’s focus on casual gaming, this package screams “soccer mom.” Party games are great, but I’d rather be playing bridge with grandma and the girls than be caught dead scooping french onion dip out of this Wii-diculous set.
