Bloggers Wanted: The past

Part 1 of this month’s Community Assignment

Recommended Videos

[This month’s Dtoid Community Assignment will span three topics: the past, the present, and the future of gaming. Sound off on one, two, or all three!]

We all look back at gaming generations past through different lenses. For me, when I reflect on “the past”, I think back to the times my brothers and I huddled around our family PC, absorbed in one of Lucasarts’ stellar point-and-click adventures, or creating custom maps in Red Alert or Quake II, or discovering a new secret area in Doom. For you, “the past” might be summed up in that one game that you think everyone needs to play, or just a longing for “the simpler times” of days gone by.

For this month’s Bloggers Wanted assignment, I want you to reminisce on what comes to mind when you think of gaming’s past. To participate, write a community blog, title it “The Past: [Your title here]”, and mark it with the “Bloggers Wanted Essay Response” tag. No topic is off the table, so don’t feel like you’re restricted to the ideas presented above! Dtoid’s new Cblog Manager and I will be keeping an eye on the Community Blogs throughout the month of February and promoting the very best ones to the front page, so please take some time and perfect your work.

Have fun! I can’t wait to see what you folks come up with.

Oh, and you can expect part 2 (Musicians Wanted) and part 3 (Artists Wanted) in the coming days 🙂
