Ubisoft is making Tetris for Xbox One and PS4

Well, someone’s got to

The Tetris franchise turns 30 this year and Ubisoft is the latest company to take on the classic puzzle game. There’s a new version in the works for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that’ll be released digitally at some point. Possibly this year! (No release date was given.)

There aren’t any real details, although then again it’s Tetris. The announcement did include two quotes, both of which are amusing but for different reasons. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the company “can’t wait to combine [its] expertise and all the capacities of next-gen consoles to create an exciting new Tetris experience for fans.” Riiight.

And then there’s The Tetris Company managing director Henk B. Rogers, who said “I am 100% sure they will develop one of the best versions of the Tetris game ever.” Maybe it’s just me, but I cannot read that sentence without it sounding sarcastic.
