Fan translation brings Ys 5 into English

Full series now fully localized

While many of you may be enjoying the latest Ys title to land stateside, Ys: Memories of Celceta on the PS Vita, one title in the series had yet to see any sort of English adaptation. That is until now.

Thanks to the team of fan translators over at Aeon Genesis, Ys V has finally been localized and patched for English consumption. The original Super Nintendo exclusive debuted in Japan in 1995 and was a slight departure in terms of gameplay from its predecessors.

For starters the game ditched the super-deformed proportions of early titles in favor of a more realistic (well for SNES standards) version of series protagonist Adol Christin. The battle system was also altered from the enemy ramming tactics to something more along the lines of The Legend of Zelda. Adol could additionally jump too, which brought in some slight platforming elements to the adventure.

Details on how to play this fan patched translation can be found over at Aeon Genesis.
