First two episodes of localized Pokemon Origins are live

It’s so good, you guys!

Well, it’s finally here guys. The first episode of the localized Pokemon Origins went live this past Friday, the second went live today, and it’s all free to watch on Pokemon TV. If you’re not up to speed, Origins is an anime completely separate from the main one as it’s a retelling of Pokemon Red/Blue. In fact, it completely follows the games to the point that each episode starts and ends with loading and saving, respectively. Those kinds of details don’t stop there. It’s super awesome.

The English voice talent does a pretty good job, but I’ve never been one to be picky about dubs or localization jobs or anything. I will say Professor Oak’s actor isn’t how I exactly imagined him sounding, but I can forgive it. Oh, and that awful clip of Charmander screaming bloody f**king murder was censored for the US version. Let’s all be happy about that.

Anyway, if you played Red or Blue pretty extensively back in the day, your nostalgia meters will go off the charts. This is an homage to your childhood in all the right ways.
