The Evil Within’s first DLC has the answers we’re looking for

Well, some of them

Oh, right — there’s a Season Pass for The Evil Within.

The thought of paying $19.99 for three DLC packs when the game itself was just on sale for nearly that price is unappealing, but that’s the situation. Part one, The Assignment, releases early next year. It’s about Castellanos’ partner Juli Kidman, as is the follow-up DLC, The Consequence.

Bethesda has a short Q&A with developer Tango Gameworks’ John Johanas about what’s next for the story. “We definitely leave some of the mysteries open, but I feel we shed a lot of light on the lore of Ruvik, STEM, and the characters while asking (and answering) a whole new set of questions regarding Juli and her mission,” he says. Gonna have to scour the wiki, then.

The team was inspired by expansions “that give the player a new spin on gameplay, while still feeling connected to the main title,” with examples like Pigsy’s Perfect 10 for Enslaved and The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches for Dishonored cited.
