Oddworld on Wii U is delayed because of the basic Wii U model

Also, controls have been updated on other platforms

According to series creator Lorne Lanning, there are a few issues with the Wii U version of Oddworld New ‘n’ Tasty. It’s not canceled, but apparently the problem is with the 8GB basic model of the Wii U. According to Lanning, “If you’re going to make a Wii U game, it better run on the 8GB unit. Otherwise, it’s not really a Wii U game.” An admirable position for people out there who have a basic model, but of course, owners can just add on external storage if they wanted to.

Additionally, the other versions have recently been patched to free up the control scheme a bit. The new controls allow you to use L2 to run, which stops him from skidding, and it forces you to be a bit more careful with your steps. The jump button will now let you hop from left to right without pressing a direction, so you won’t have anymore accidental deaths while stepping on mines.
