Simultaneous release on all platforms

While it’s not entirely unexpected to hear that Thief will come to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in addition to the previously-announced PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One releases, I was starting to get worried. Eidos Montréal confirmed the good news today in a community announcement.

Rather than being offloaded to a different studio, the current-generation versions are being worked on by the same team at Eidos Montréal. The core gameplay won’t change, according to senior producer Stéphane Roy, though visual fidelity will of course take a hit. All versions will launch at the same time in 2014. Dogs, a staple of next-gen, are also in.
