I have admitted in the past to finding dumb pleasure in the Paul W. S. Anderson Resident Evil movies. But even though I enjoy them, I wouldn’t exactly be opposed to a different film treatment that, you know, actually adhered to the source material.

Rocket Jump, the studio behind Video Game High School, received Capcom’s blessing to whip up a cool little RE short. Resident Evil: Down With the Sickness was originally posted last year on the Rocket Jump site, but I doubt most of you caught it then — I didn’t either. It’s on YouTube now, so we have no excuse anymore.

Despite having no characters from the film, Down With the Sickness is a much more faithful adaptation than anything Anderson has cooked up. I totally lost it when the one dude spots a typewriter and feels the need to “save a record of these events.”
