Blizzard explains female Night Elf redesign in detail

‘More muscle tone’

World of Warcraft‘s artists have been hard at work this year redesigning the female Night Elf model. Senior art director Chris Robinson note that every character model in the game will be improved by the time Warlords of Draenor hits, but the new Night Elf has become “more defined…more realistic…with more musctle tone.”

They also wanted to give her a bit more pronounciation in terms of the Night Elf race’s feral nature, and even went so far as to redesign her fingernails for this purpose. Artist Tamara Bakhlycheva notes that it ultimately is “beautiful, wild, and dangerous.” I think they did a great job without going overboard.
