Bit.Trip Runner2 better on Wii U than Xbox 360

Gajin Games explains differences between platforms

Bit.Trip Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is gearing up for a multi-platform release next week and, from what I’ve played of it thus far, it’s shaping up to be a mighty fine game. If I had to levy one complaint against the title, it’d likely be directed at the excessive loading times.

Gaijin Games says the Xbox 360 build is the worst version of the game in this respect, while the Wii U’s loading times rank best among consoles thanks to the system’s increased memory capacity. Runner2 also differentiates itself on Nintendo’s new home console through the ability to be played remotely on the gamepad.

Some features were sacrificed to get the title running on PlayStation 3. Though Runner2‘s PS3 build boasts sharper and more vibrant visuals, it lacks the depth of field, shadow filtering, and micro leaderboards available on other platforms.

And, as you might expect, the Steam version is only as good as the computer you run it on. Again, these are just slight differences in the grand scheme of things. It’s supposedly very much the same game across all platforms. Be sure to look out for our full review of the game next week.
